Designer of the hat brand SAWA VAUGHTERS, Sawa Vaughters trained under legendary milliner Stephen Jones.

In 2025, she collaborated with Dior, creating hats for the Dior Fall Collection「Japanese savoir-faire」, presented at To-ji Temple in Kyoto. The collection fused modernism with Japan’s traditional kasa hats, reinterpreting heritage forms through a contemporary lens.

Committed to Made in Japan craftsmanship, each piece is handcrafted with care, warmth, and a sense of intimacy.

While pursuing innovative forms, the brand is built on the concept of drawing out individuality through gender-neutral beauty. Customers can select personalized accessories through the online shop, and at special events held at select department stores and concept-shops, fully customized one-of-a-kind pieces are also available.

SAWA VAUGHTERS also develops the “SPACE LIFE FASHION GOODS” series, aiming to contribute to the space industry. The lineup includes items that follow a space-themed philosophy like the T+ cap, inspired by rocket trajectories, and the ESM bag, conceived from the International Space Station and life-support systems of astronauts.

The T+ cap is currently available as an official collaboration with the manga Space Brothers, with 10% of sales donated to UNISEC to support the development of future space professionals.

ESM received a Special Award at a DuPont design competition and is now released through the outdoor brand CHUMS. A new model, ESM – Disaster Model –, is scheduled to debut at the Oita Disaster Prevention & Evacuation Expo in February 2026.
